A FUNCTION OF A BITE

THE WORK | Event concept, project management, curation, edible installation, space design, art direction

The components of food—and the ways in which we experience them—hold the power to evoke emotions, convey meaning, and reflect deeper human attributes. This culinary, edible exhibition set out to explore the boundaries of functional food through ten unique installations. Each was the result of a collaboration between product designers, chefs, and food scientists.

Every team was assigned a specific “function”—one not typically associated with food—and was challenged to express it through a single bite: a microcosm of ingredients, textures, and flavors.

The concept was designed to examine the broad spectrum of roles food can play, stretching from the physical to the emotional, the individual to the collective, and the everyday to the ceremonial.
